Israel resorts to further illegality following UNESCO vote
This week countries voted overwhelmingly to admit Palestine as a full member of UNESCO, the first time Palestine has been recognised as a full member of a UN body. Shamefully, the UK abstained on the vote but a number of MPs have welcomed the move>>
The fall-out was immediate with the US withdrawing its funding for the organisation . Ban Ki-Moon, rather than point the finger of shame at the US, has urged Palestine not to push its case further>> so as not to jeopardise funding for other UN bodies.

Israel responded by announcing further illegal settlement building and the witholding of Palestinian tax revenues they are obliged to pass on. Ban Ki-Moon did criticise this saying Israel’s actions ‘prejudiced final status negotiations’ – yet no international action seems forthcoming. To read more about this story click here>>

Two boats carrying medical supplies from Canada and Ireland have set sail towards Gaza. Israel is preparing to attack the boats in order to prevent them breaking Israel’s illegal siege on Gaza. Gazans are demonstrating to urge protection for the ships.
The situation in Gaza remains chronic: the siege continues preventing people from rebuilding their homes, their lives and their futures.

Why supporting Palestine is supporting an anti-racist struggle
New Statesman carried a blog highly critical of PSC entitled ‘Anti-Semitism is the new black’. This is part of the ongoing strategy, articulated by the Reut Institute, that identifies the PSC as the ‘hub of hubs’.
The New Statesman have now issued a reply piece from Hugh Lanning, Chair of PSC, setting out why anti-racism is at the core of our strategy.
