The Native Plant Society of Staten Island has joined the NPCC. The Society  was formed this year on Earth Day. It has 165 members.

 

They have  an active Facebook page  and website. The website includes a beautiful photo gallery featuring images like this native milkweed.

 

They are a nonprofit membership organization, focused on public outreach and education to increase awareness of the vital importance of native plants in our local landscapes.  Their first event was a Seed Swap in May; the second was a Plant Swap on June 1.
