Well, that was another whip around the Sun.
And what new did we learn in the past year?
1: The CIA was pointlessly torturing prisoners, shamelessly spying on Congress, baldfacedly lying to the President, and undermining our democracy with their absolute disrepect of our laws and the concept of civilian oversight.
(Okay, that's not exactly new. How about...)
1: Training and arming religious fundamentalists in an effort to indermnine a government in the Middle East can literally and figurally blow up in your face.
(Again, I think we knew that. Okay...)
1: Most politicians are prostitutes, only without the ethical core.
(Wait - we don't want to insult prostitutes by comparing them in any way to the lying, feckless, assworms that slide through the halls of government, attaching themselves to the highest paying sphincter.)
(Great, now I've insulted assworms. Instead...)
1: Our air is poisoned, our soiled is infected, and our seas are dying, and those who are poisoning, infecting and killing our world for their own profit are still unprosecuted because the media - which they also own - blasts us with unimportant drival and "balanced" reporting rather than sounding the alarm for decisive change while the bought-and-paid for assworms in government do nothing.
(Sorry assworms!)
1: There are police officers who see melanin as a weapon in and of itself, and who feel justified in using deadly force to defend themselves from those armed with Blackness -
(Hey - )
- and they are surrounded by other police officers who don't arrest them, stop them, or report them, and who think of themselves as the "Good Cops" -
(Ummm...)
- and these assaults on The Black are committed simply because the society has endorsed time and time again that Blackness equals Badness and Crime and Danger, and that unless a Black Man is carrying a ball or singing a song he is a rapist or a thief or a murder, or will grow up to be one -
(......)
- so he must be stopped stopped stopped at all costs. And since we all know those costs will very seldom be paid by any police officer, why not shoot the Black Man,
or Boy,
or Woman,
or little Girl?
Why not?
Ya know, maybe we didn't learn much new this last year after all.
So in this New Year let's learn how to change all that.
