Portland Story Theater's 2010/11 season is off to a flying start! Join us on Friday, September 24th and Saturday, September 25th, when our workshop participants take the stage at Hipbone Studio to share the personal stories they've created. PST founders, Lynne and Lawrence, will be performing right alongside the workshop participants. This will be a fast-paced evening of short stories complete with wine and hors d'oeuvres. In a bit of a departure from our trademark brand of true,Jonah Weston, The Devil and Billy Markham personal stories, PST's Lawrence Howard is proud to join forces with Jonah Weston and Action Talks Productions to present a pair of great literary works for your autumnal listening pleasure: Stephen Vincent Benet's "The Devil and Daniel Webster" and Shel Silverstein's epic poem for adults, "The Devil and Billy Markham." Terrifying Tales at John Palmer House
Special Fundraiser Event for PST and NestShare
The John Palmer House, Halloween WeekendJoin us on Halloween weekend, Friday, October 29th, or Saturday, October 30th, for Terrifying Tales at the beautiful and haunted John Palmer House. Only 50 tickets 
will be issued each 
night for this very special event. Small groups of listeners will go from room to room until they have heard all the stories and seen the whole house. Doors 7:30. Shows 8:00. Tickets $35-$50 (Sliding Scale). All proceeds will go to Portland Story Theater and 
NestShare, a non-profit organization providing rooms for out-of-town cancer patients receiving medical treatment in Portland. Tickets are only available online at  Brown Paper Tickets. Last year, this event sold out in a few days; get your tickets today!  


PST Founders Lynne and Lawrence are honored to be part of the Cascade AIDS Project Charity Benefit, There Stood I: The Poetry of Emmett Wheatfall
Poet Emmett WheatfallWe met first Emmett Wheatfall when we did Paula's Picks together on KBOO. He has invited us to join him on Friday, September 17th, at the World Forestry Center for an evening of spoken word. This benefit for the Cascade AIDS Project starts at 6:30 with a reception, followed by a silent auction, and concluding with poetry readings by several Portland performers including Mario DePriest, David Ornette Cherry, and Anderson Deboise. This event is free and open to the public but seating is extremely limited, so please RSVP directly to the Cascade AIDS Project
