Huntsville Loses Lifetime resident, dedicated employee, neighbor and friend to all
Lavern Bronson passed away on March 24th, just two weeks after his 95th birthday. Vern was a second generation, lifetime fixture in Huntsville for nearly 100 years.
After a career with the State Road department (UDOT), he worked for the town of Huntsville as a Snow Plow operator and all around fix it guy until he was in his 90's. Together with Preston Jackson, the town was kept in tip top shape, and it was said that Vern was the only guy who could hear it snow in the middle of the night.
In honor of Vern, we are proclaiming Saturday, March 29, 2008 as VERN BRONSON day. Please honor Mr. Bronson any way you feel appropriate. While flag etiquette does not allow us to ask for flags to be flown at half staff, Vern was a fantastic individual and fixture of our community who deserves our highest honors.

Huntsville is a much better place because of you, Vern, and we are all fortunate to have been associated with you.
Thanks for everything!
That’s all for now, have a great week.
Sincerely,
Richard L. Sorensen
Huntsville Town Council
