Dear Macro Members,
I just wanted to send out a quick reminder that poster session proposals for our workshop on June 15-16, 2012 are due by May 1 IF you want to request travel funding! Poster sessions proposals will be accepted until June 1, but our travel funding will be set before that date.
I also wanted to take a moment to highlight some of the topics and presentations on this year's program. Our workshop features a broad range of topics this year including but not limited to learning styles and macro analysis, a panel session featuring creative composition assignments for your students, approaching Schoenberg with macro analysis, circle progressions in "Walk the Line," nine rhythms of rock, macro-formal structures in the music of Radiohead, the influence of Dallapiccola and challenges and pedagogical possibilities in the " Hammerklavier" Sonata. Definitely something for everyone at this year's workshop! Don't forget, we're also releasing three computer games for you and your students at this year's workshop, for free! They include "Melody Mixer," "Harmony Helper," and "Counterpoint Construction."
