SURREY SCOUT WATER ACTIVITIES CLUB

Hi ,

If you know someone, such as parents, who do not receive the club emails directly, please forward this email.

The SSWAC team are currently working hard to ensure that we can safely provide the programme of exciting events that we did before the COVID 19 Pandemic started, albeit at first in a reduced capacity.

As we are sure you can understand this is a complex process for us, reviewing and adhering to the national guidance from British Canoeing and from The Scout Association.

We are pleased to say that we are confident we will be ready to resume a programme of activities shortly, with some strict safety measures in place, subject to our Risk Assessments being approved by the County Team.

You may or may not be aware that The Scout Association has a traffic light system to guide a return to active Scouting, and the level that is set will determine what activities we feel we can safely deliver. As well as Risk Assessments, another document will be created that will show what activities we will be able to provide at each level.

What we can say is that sadly our Centre facilities will remain closed until we feel we can appropriately mitigate the risks COVID 19 poses in the environment.

Please bear with us while we work through and finalise our plans for returning to face to face Scouting. The plan is to start again in September, but we will offer activities as soon as we can, and they will be advertised in the normal way, by email and on Facebook.

We thank you for your patience and understanding in this simply bizarre and unusual time.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in contact with one of the team.
