Hello Firstname

Wednesday, 20 July
Next Wednesday, 20 July, we will have a presentation by Tim Pile ARPS EFIAP/s MPAGB called Have I Got Nudes For You. Contrary to possibe misplaced anticipation, this is not going to be an evening of pin-up pictures of Ian Hislop, it is instead going to be an evening of fine art figure work by this well know photographer, the following is taken from Tim's website:

The best way of viewing an image is as a print, as the viewer sees it exactly as the author wants them to view it, and I think the best way of showing prints is as a talk where you can explain each of the prints to the audience. So as I produce far more images than I can possibly use in competitions I was very pleased when Bob Moore asked me to do a talk around a year ago for Arden Photo Group. This led to a talk last November at Wrekin Arts, which led to an invitation to do my talk at another club Whitchurch, and my name has got around and now quite a few more societies want me to see my talk. I talk for around 90 minutes, split into two halves with a break in between and show around 120 of my prints. I show some of my early prints and explain how and why I got into photographing models, and then show the journey through to more recent work including my successful panels.

For examples of Tim's work, visit his website.

Studio Group
The next Studio group at 7.00pm on Tuesday 19 July. By popular request the evening will see a return visit by model Alexandra for a portrait session; the session is limited to 5 photographers, so it will be on a first come first served basis. Cost £15. As usual if more than 5 people sign up the remainder will be on a waiting list for this event or have priority for the next event at Unit 13.
Please sign up using this link. Please also add your email and phone number so that Nick can confirm your attendance.

Circomedia
The August Studio Group Meeting will be a repeat visit to Circomedia in Kingswood with two fantastic circus performers, Elilie and Rachel, who will demonstrate their skills in juggling, stilt walking, trapeze and acrobatics. This follows the recent visit to Circomedia when there were a number of members who were interested but couldn't make the day or time, so Nick has asked the girls at Circomedia if they would repeat the evenyt, which they are happy to do. There are 3 potential days in August when either a morning or afternoon session could be organised. Nick has therefore set up a Doodle Poll to find the most convenient day and time for anyone who wants to come - please click here.
If this appeals to you, please show your availability on the poll and put your email address in the comments section and Nick will arrange a session and get back to you, the cost will be £30 and it should be a great session.

Photography Course
Applications for this year's Photography Course are now open, so if you know anyone who is interested in joining the course (which starts in September), get them to visit the Society website for full details. Alternatively they could come along to an open afternoon being held at 2pm this Sunday (17 July) at the clubrooms, when Society members will be on hand to explain what the course will involve.

Members' Evening
You will see from your Handbook that Wednesday 17 August is the annual Members' Evening and Derwood is looking for contributors to the evening. If you would like to present your photography to BPS members then please contact our Programme Secretary Derwood on either derwood1004@gmail.com or 07545 848 919. This is an opportunity for the club to hear from some of its members whose talents or recent activity they might otherwise not be aware of.
