 A Merry Christmas and a Farewell...for now.
2021 was quite an odd one for me. Much less talk about music. Much more talk about life. But no matter what, it was definitely important to me to stay connected with you all.
If I learned anything, it was that finding and telling a good story brings me so much joy. And storytelling is the one thread that connects everything I do.
I began more consistently coaching younger artists, helping them tell their stories.
I began co-hosting the Art & Faith Conversations podcast, allowing guests to tell their story
I began sharing the stories of the people in my neighborhood.
I began telling stories through poetry.
And I procesed most everything through this newsletter. Thank you for being part of the process!
I'm hoping that in 2022 I will get to see you all much more than I have these past 2 years. Yet at the same time I expect things to shift a bit...in what ways, I'm not entirely sure. I will actually be even pickier and choosier with where I play, when I play, and how I play in order to maintain my love for this all. The majority of my commitments at the top of the year are speaking engagements so I expect there will be more of that. There are a bunch of ideas swirling, so I'm zooming out to see how they all can work together.
Which means you won't hear from me until February. Pause!
