Wednesday 2 August

Next Wednesday is something different, we will be meeting outside the Corn Exchange in Corn Street in the city centre, by the Nails at 7.00pm for the annual BPS outing - note the time.

This should be a fun evening and the chance for some of us to reacquaint ourselves with what a camera looks like! There is even the chance that Jay will have set us some sort of photographic scavenger hunt.

NO ZOOM TONIGHT

Not even Matt, with all his Zooming skills, could fix up an outside broadcast for this evening, so all you Zoomers will have to find something else to do with your Wednesday evening.

Photoshoot Opportunities

Mike (Martin) is trying to arrange the opportunity to work on location or in the studio – as below:

Photoshoot – Azadeh Safei – between 26 – 30 August

Mike worked with Azadeh a few years ago.  You may recognise her from one of Mike’s creative images.
Azadeh is based in Southampton, but is travelling to Bristol over the bank holiday, so this is an opportunity to work with her and avoid her travelling costs.  Her modelling rates are £150 for a half day or £250 for a full day.  This includes choice of outfits from her extensive (and mildly bonkers!) wardrobe as well as make-up and hair so no MUA is needed.
If you are already registered on Purpleport here’s a link to her profile Azadeh, 39yr old freelance model, Southampton (or grab Mike next week at the Clubroom if you want to look at her portfolio).

Contact Mike Martin if you’d like to photograph Azadeh, giving your preference for:
  • date
  • 1:2:1 or a group
  • half day / full day
  • with Mike assisting or on your own
  • preference for studio, or suggestions for a location
  • any specific outfit(s) you’d like to photograph
Mike will try and co-ordinate to best match your needs.

Trumpet Blowers' Corner
Well done to the following members who have gained FIAP distinctions:
  • Sandie Cox - EFIAP/b (Bronze)
  • Graham Pears - EFIAP
  • Mary Pears - EFIAP
Salon acceptances: Contrary to popular belief, I do not possess psychic powers and need you to tell me if you've had successes. If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue.

Market Place
If you have any photographic items for sale, drop me a line and I'll include it in the next newsletter. Please make sure that you provide contact details, price and full description of the sale items (pictures always help).

IMPORTANT: Personal Detail Changes
Please don't forget that if you change your address (home or email), or gain additional photographic distinctions, it would be appreciated if you could let the Membership Secretary know so that she can keep her records up to date, this will also ensure that you continue to receive your newsletters - please email all changes to membership@bristolphoto.org.uk

The distinctions we have on record are those shown at the top of this newsletter, please remember, if you don't tell us we can't possibly know!

DO NOT REPLY TO THE NEWSLETTER.
