STITCH LONDON REHATCHES!

Stitch London is a bit of a woolly Godzilla. In the six years we have been stomping across the craft world with our sticks and string we have gone from 3 Stitch Londoners to a staggering 12 500 Stitch Londoners in 52 countries worldwide (not counting the thousands who stalk Stitch on Twitter, Facebook and Ravelry).

What does a woolly Godzilla do when it becomes too big for it's woolly Godzilla wrangler to handle? It hibernates for a little while and then rehatches BIGGER, WOOLIER, CRAFTIER and with more FREE STUFF!

In March 2012 Stitch London will rehatch into something the UK's craft scene may run screaming into the hills from. Or it may just turn into something bloomin' beautiful. You'll have to wait and see.

Please bear with us for the next month while the rehatching happens. Here's a sneaky peek at things to come:

  • A SPLENDIEROUS new Stitch London website featuring six years of  Stitch London articles (eek!)
  • A FANTABULOUS Stitch London shop selling shiny things
  • KNITTED PIGEONS
  • The BLOOMIN' BRILLIANT first round of our Badge Factor competition (closing date has been extended so enter now!)
  • LOADS more free knitting, crochet, sewing and stitching patterns
  • MORE KNITTED PIGEONS
  • LOADS more competitions
  • SO MUCH crafty news your head may pop in a cloud of glitter glue and sequins
  • SHEEP
  • INTERVIEWS with some of crafts brightest stars
  • MORE SHEEP
  • Gertrude Woolsworthy, our GIN-SOAKED woolly agony aunt, as you have never seen her before
  • EVEN MORE SHEEP and KNITTED PIGEONS

What do you need to do now? Add info@stitchLDN.com to your email address book. Our next newsletter will come from the new address. Otherwise it might get eaten by the junk mail monsters! ARRRGH!

Then just get on with your stitching. Stitch London will be back in March.

Can't wait? Check up on us on Twitter and Facebook, where sneak peeks of new features might be shown.

SMARTPHONE-UP YOUR GLOVES!

By 'eck it's freezing out! Doesn't matter to you though. You're all snug in your handknitted gloves. So there.

Then all of a sudden your phone rings. It's swoonsome silver screen star Ryan Gosling* calling you for a hot date. You better answer.

I said you better answer!

But your gloved hands can't answer the phone. THEY CAN'T ANSWER!!! AAAAAAIIIIIIIIEEEEEEE!!!

Ryan hangs up and goes out on a date with some Hollywood starlet instead. They get married and adopt babies form third world countries and he get a bit chubby. She does the dirty on him with a camera man from a film they're both starring in. Due to his poor acting in said film the critics rip him to shreds in the reviews. Ryan is forced to leave Hollywood forever in shame. He ends up buying a monkey on the black market and joining a circus as a man called Boris Ape Hair who can balance a juggling monkey on his head while riding a unicycle. He does not unicycle well. At night he lies in his bed of straw and wonders why oh why you didn't pick up when he called you.

You ruined Ryan Gosling's life because your stupid gloves wouldn't let you work your iPhone. For shame!

But hang on! Who is that flapping to the rescue? Why it's Cooey the Pigeon with her:

Now you can learn how to turn any pair of gloves into gloves that work with your smartphone.

If only you had known that before you ruined Ryan Gosling's life. Sigh.

*Mr Gosling is the current Hollywood male the ladies are swooning over. Amusingly the Handmade Ryan Gosling blog implies he loves a crafty lady. Well worth a read.
