Please join BookShop West Portal this Saturday, April 29th from noon to 5pm for the biggest BOOK SCAVENGER HUNT West Portal has ever seen! Meet us in the courtyard for an activity inspired by the novel Book Scavenger, as we anticipate author Jennifer Bertman's visit on Thursday, May 4th at 7pm to discuss the sequel, The Unbreakable Code.
Kids of all ages - from toddlers to teens - there are mysteries afoot! There are books to be had! Come solve puzzles, clues, and ciphers that will lead you on a tour of West Portal. But only investigators with the correct code word will go home with the prize...
We are giving away over 100 free kids' books in celebration of Independent Bookstore Day!

And a reminder for urban hikers: We still have room for the moderate-level hike* to Mount Davidson led by Urban Trails: San Francisco author Alexandra Kenin, starting at 10am. To RSVP, please call the store at (415) 564-8080 or email Susan@bookshopwestportal.com. Please provide your name, phone number, and email address, and indicate whether you will be joining the hike at BookShop West Portal or at Mount Davidson (alternate start is at 10:30am at the hiking path entrance on Juanita Way, between Rex Street and Marne Avenue).
*Hikers should be able to do 2-3 miles easily, including hills.
Alexandra will sign copies of her book at the bookstore following the hike.
