November Newsletter ...
It’s been a while! Our last newsletter was back in February, and as the year flew by, we’ve all found ourselves juggling busy schedules and life’s many demands. But now that November is here, it’s the perfect time to slow down, refocus, and prepare ourselves for the cozy season ahead.
Better Sleep...
This is more of a life hack than an organizing tip, but getting sleep could lead to more energy for organizing.
When I find myself tossing and turning in the middle of the night, all the extra lighting from my electronics suddenly seem so bright and distract me from going back to sleep. Especially the ones that flash, like my internet modem.
To solve this problem, I covered the tiny lights with black electrical tape. Now, when I go to sleep or wake up in the middle of the night, my room feels calm and peaceful, no longer like a mini-airport runway.
When I travel, my electrical tape comes with me to cover those annoying lights in my hotel room. I carefully lay the tape over the lights so I can easily remove it once I check out of my room.
Holiday Cheer...
Please consider donating the toys your children no longer play with before the holidays start. Many parents will be shopping for their children and count on your donations to bring holiday joy to their little ones.
At The Ready...
When I speak at company meetings or attend my speaker association conference, I am often given a name tag on a lanyard. I keep a small stash of my business cards tucked in the lanyard behind my name tag so they are easily accessible when someone asks me for my card. Of course, nowadays, we often share our contact information electronically, but I like to keep some physical cards with me just in case someone prefers my card in print.
I never give someone my card unless they ask. As an organizer, I see how these "unrequested" business cards end up as clutter in someone's office.

It’s important to get the medications you no longer need out of your home to prevent children from accidental poisonings. And in keeping it real here, some teenagers may also be interested in experimenting with those same medications. Plus, according to the FDA, "Expired medical products can be less effective or risky due to a change in chemical composition or a decrease in strength." Keep everyone safe and help our environment by disposing of medications properly.
