SURREY SCOUT WATER ACTIVITIES CLUB

Hi ,

If the following is not of interest to you, but you know someone who may be interested, please forward this email.

An update on some Autumn events.

But before that, over the last few weeks we have held a Discover/Explore course, with nine awards gained.
Club members also supported a weekend camp at Paxmead Guide Centre on the Thames, where 34 Discover awards were gained.

We have a variety of trips happening over the Winter. Some have already been advertised, and others will be, in due course.

I have attached invites to:
A local day trip in the Shalford area,
Two 1-day courses in advanced skills in kayak and open canoe, partially to prepare people for the Winter moving water trips, but including becoming more efficient, and more in control.

The requirement to hold a SUP specific Permit for B1 waters and above has been delayed until the 31st March, to allow for the Permit training and assessments to take place over the Winter.

Lastly, a reminder. The stretch of water that the club Centre lays alongside is now listed as Class C. For introductory sessions this does away with the need for Permit holders there, though there are other requirements, which can be provided on request. So if you want to get your members on the water in kayaks, canoes or on SUPs this Autumn, it just got easier.
