Luke 16:9 "And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail, they may receive you into an everlasting home."

MORE PRECIOUS THAN GOLD

Gold is often used in the construction of computers, organs, and other sophisticated instruments. Nothing is better for the contact points on the electrical switches. God also used gold to "get a message across" in Old Testament times -- in the worship place He designed, the Temple.

Gold covered the lamp-stand which portrayed the Christ to come as the Light of the World. Gold covered the small table on which loaves of fresh bread were displayed daily, symbolizing the coming Savior as the Bread of Life. The Altar of Incense picturing the continual rising of prayer from the hearts of those who trust in God's promises, this too was gold.

But most importantly, the central message of the worship center as portrayed in the Ark of the Covenant was a message portrayed in gold. The Ark was a gold box, covered with beaten gold. On the golden lid of the box knelt two angels made of gold, their shining wingtips touching over its midpoint, the Mercy Seat of God.

Here the blood of bulls and goats was sprinkled on the Great Day of Atonement, pointing forward to the great Day when Jesus, the Christ of God, would offer Himself in a bloody sacrifice to make atonement for the sin of all mankind. When gold conveys this message its value is far beyond any listing on the securities exchange.

Does your "gold" proclaim Christ and Him crucified?
