Summertime in Tennessee is like being wrapped in a living, breathing green blanket. Here on The Farm, the land comes alive, especially at night, with the songs of cicadas and tree frogs loud and strong.

You wake up to mist drifting across the fields, adding a sense of mystery, a feeling of being held by something greater, something deeply rooted in the earth and in yourself.
For those of us who have made this place our home, summer is more than a season — it’s a reminder of why we chose to live close to the land. It’s in the fireflies that wink “I’m here!”, the burst of flavor from a fresh tomato out of the garden, and the long days that invite community gatherings and quiet reflection alike.
The land teaches us to be present, an immersion that grounds you in the beauty of what’s real and what truly matters.

Introducing the Wholeo Dome, a unique art installation on The Farm

The Wholeo Dome is a stunning geodesic structure originally conceived and crafted between 1966 and 1974 by artist Caroling Wholeo Geary. Built as a seven-foot-tall and fourteen-foot-wide stained-glass cocoon, it was envisioned as a living, expressive embodiment of colored light and universal harmony.
In 2004, the Wholeo Dome found its way to The Farm, where it was reassembled. Its reinstallation reawakened its purpose: a contemplative space where anyone could bask in the kaleidoscopic light and commune with the spiritual resonance of stained glass. In May 2010, due to structural concerns and the exposure of lead to the elements, it was temporarily placed stored to protect its delicate materials.
Thanks to a dedicated team effort, a transparent dome has been assembled with the Wholeo Dome inside, allowing light to work its magic while offering total protection. A special staircase was designed that allows visitors to easily access the dome's interior for a truly immersive experience.
Today, the Wholeo Dome stands not only as an artistic treasure, but as a symbol of The Farm’s continued embrace of creativity and appreciation for the way beauty can uplift the soul.
The Wholeo is not yet open to the public except by special appointment. It will be a stop on The Farm Experience Community Tour.
