Croeso i'r rhifyn cyntaf o 'Addysg Cymru', e-fwletin newydd CyngACC. Mae'r rhifyn hwn yn cynnwys newyddion am aelodau Cyngor y Gweithlu Addysg (CGA), cofrestru gyda CGA, a'r newyddion diweddaraf am ein gwaith Priodoldeb i Ymarfer.

Mae'r bwletin hefyd yn cynnwys dolenni cyswllt i sawl ymgynghoriad pwysig rydym wedi'u lansio. Rydym yn awyddus iawn i gael eich barn ar Reolau Cofrestru a Disgyblu drafft CGA; darllenwch ymlaen i weld sut i ymateb.

Rydyn ni'n newid

CGA / EWC LogoAr 1 Ebrill 2015, bydd Cyngor Addysgu Cyffredinol Cymru (CyngACC) yn dod yn gorff newydd, sef Cyngor y Gweithlu Addysg (CGA).

Bydd athrawon yn parhau i gael eu cofrestru gyda CGA, yn yr un modd â ChyngACC. O 1 Ebrill 2015, bydd angen i ddarlithwyr Addysg Bellach (AB) gael eu cofrestru, ac o 1 Ebrill 2016, bydd angen i staff cymorth dysgu mewn ysgolion ac AB gofrestru, hefyd.

Mae 14 aelod Cyngor CGA newydd gael eu cyhoeddi. Mae saith aelod yn cael eu penodi'n uniongyrchol drwy system penodiadau cyhoeddus Llywodraeth Cymru a chaiff saith aelod eu penodi drwy enwebiadau gan ystod o randdeiliaid. Penodir aelodau'r Cyngor am gyfnod o bedair blynedd. Mae'r Cyngor yn gosod cyfeiriad strategol CGA, ac mae'n gyfrifol am ei lywio.

Digwyddiadau

I baratoi ar gyfer dechrau CGA, rydym wedi bod yn cyfarfod â rhanddeiliaid ac yn gwneud cyflwyniadau i grwpiau o gofrestreion newydd. Gallwch chi weld ble byddwn ni yma.

Bydden n'n croesawu cyfle i gwrdd â rhagor o'n rhanddeiliaid, a siarad â nhw, i godi ymwybyddiaeth o'r newidiadau cynlluniedig. Rydyn ni eisoes yn cael gofynion rheolaidd i wneud cyflwyniadau neu ddarparu gwybodaeth mewn, er enghraifft:

  • HMS;
  • cyfarfodydd y staff cyfan;
  • cyfarfodydd athrawon / penaethiaid;
  • cyfarfodydd grwpiau clwstwr neu bwnc;
  • sesiynau cyfnos;
  • cyfarfodydd / digwyddiadau ALl.

I'r athrawon hynny sy'n talu eu ffioedd adnewyddu'n uniongyrchol, byddwn ni'n anfon e-bost atoch ar ddechrau mis Chwefror, gan nodi sut i dalu'ch ffi adnewyddu, yn lle'r llythyrau adnewyddu ffioedd arferol. Hayden LlewellynWelcome to the first edition of ‘Education Wales’, the GTCW’s new e-bulletin.   This issue includes news about the Education Workforce Council (EWC) members, registering with the EWC and the latest on our Fitness to Practise work.

The bulletin also links to several important consultations we have launched. We’d really like your views on draft EWC Registration and Disciplinary Rules, read on to find out how to respond.

We're changing

CGA / EWC LogoOn 1 April 2015, the General Teaching Council for Wales (GTCW) will become a new body, the Education Workforce Council (EWC).

Teachers will continue to be registered with the EWC, in the same way as with the GTCW. From 1 April 2015, Further Education (FE) lecturers will need to be registered, and from 1 April 2016, learning support staff in schools and FE will also need to register.

From 1 April 2015, the EWC website will be www.ewc.wales


Education Workforce Council news

Members of the Education Workforce Council

The 14 members of the EWC Council have just been announced. Seven members are directly appointed through the Welsh Government public appointments system and seven members are appointed following nomination from a range of stakeholders. Council members are appointed for a period of four years. The Council sets the strategic direction for the EWC, and is responsible for its governance.

Forthcoming events

In preparation for the start of the EWC we have been meeting with stakeholders and presenting to new registrant groups. You can find out more about where we’ll be here.
We’d welcome an opportunity to meet and speak to more of our stakeholders to raise awareness of the planned changes. We already receive regular requests to make presentations or provide information at, for example:

  • INSET;
  • whole staff meetings;
  • teacher / headteacher meetings;
  • cluster group or subject meetings;
  • twilight sessions;
  • LA meetings / events.

If you started Induction from September 2014 please make sure that you keep your Induction Profile up to date online, using your GTCW account.

Registration

Teachers currently registered with GTCW
For those teachers who pay their renewal fees directly, instead of the usual fee renewal letters at the beginning of February, this year  we will be sending you an email setting out how to pay your renewal fee.  Check your record online here to make sure we have the correct e-mail address for you.

FE Lecturers being registered with the EWC from 1  April 2015
Look out for a letter from us at the end of February confirming that you will be registered with the new Council.  You will then be able to check and amend your personal record on the Register of Education Practitioners online.
