Lancaster County Pennsylvania has an abundance of locally created crafts, many of them made locally by the Amish community.  People come from around the world to admire and many times purchase quilts, crafts and other handmade items.  Additionally many crafters come to Lancaster County to buy fabrics which are availble in thousands of patterns and colors with stores specializing in just fabrics.   Some of the local stores include:  Zooks Fabrics in Intercourse PA, Sauders Fabric Shop and Burkholder Fabrics located in Denver.

 

 

Completed quilts can be found in many stores and even in homes of some Amish families.  A few of the quilts stores include:  Riehl's Quilts & Crafts, Country Lane Quilts, Sylvia Petersheim's Quilts Fabrics and Crafts.

 

Some of the Amish have been making baskets and recently there is now an Amish potter making pitchers and vases and several other items.  There is also an Amish family that has a woodshop specializing in bird houses and birdfeeders.
