Well, folks, it's been a long five years. Leanne's Alzheimers kept me home taking care of her, then I got sick,  then she passed away on Christmas Eve (it was a gift to her, the last few months were very hard for my dear.) Seven Days ran a really wonderful piece about her. If you didn't see it, click on the link, it's worth your time.

But I'm back now. Even at the most Covidified of times I was able to sit in a chair and talk, which I did on evil old Facebook. (Friend me if you do such things.) I recovered my music with help from some friends, and starting in May I was well enough to begin performing out again.

Now I've got something new to tell you about. On the weekend before thanksgiving, Friday Nov 18 and Saturday Nov 19, I present a live in person program at Lost Nation Theater. If you are close and feel brave enough to come in person (everybody masks), I'd love to see you. Otherwise, LNT has become expert at streaming, and the show will stream live. Please come. I'd like you to be there.

UPCOMING SHOW: LIVE AND STREAMED

The show is called "Fifty Years of Storytelling." It will feature some of the best solo pieces I've been performing all those years, some of the things Leanne and I did together reconfigured for one voice, and a few things that are new, at least one of which I collected live in oral transmission. Also, I'll talk about how it's been, both on my own and with my darling, but not for too long; thee are plenty of people talking about themselves already; this is (as all my and our shows were) mostly traditional folk tales, told in a manner to entertain a contemporary audience. All this and music too!

ALSO: I just recorded a new live solo album, first one since Weatherbeard. It's still in process. Send me an email if you'd like to be kept up to date on that.

Love,
