ISS UK’s Kristina Jackson and Helene Carpentier, both Service Development Managers, were shortlisted as two of the top three in the Sustainability/CSR Manager of the Year category at the edie Sustainability Leaders Awards.
Kristina’s exceptional work implementing projects that support the Zero Waste to Landfill target for a major retail bank client across 2,156 UK and Ireland sites was recognised, and she was crowned the 2017 Sustainability/CSR Manager of the Year. This well-deserved accomplishment reflects her passionate and intelligent approach to managing resources – her work this year has contributed to one of the most impactful environmentally focused projects in the banking sector.
The edie Sustainability Leaders Awards judges said:
“Kristina’s positive impact in such a relatively short space of time has been truly remarkable. She has demonstrated that taking a big-picture approach to sustainability can help to drive engagement, deliver clear results and achieve social good.”
The other finalist, Helene, has been responsible for the implementation of a best-in-class sustainability strategy at a leading London airport and increasing the recycling rate of one of its terminals to a world class rate of 75%. Through a strategic focus on employee engagement and behaviour change, Helene has managed to drive award-winning environmental sustainability at the global transport hub.
At ISS, Kristina and Helene are joint chairs of a sustainability and resource management leadership forum. They are working to build a network of aspirational leaders in order to shape the way 21st century workplaces perceive and manage their waste and resources.
ISS stated:
"These employees’ accomplishments and their recent awards illustrate ISS’ commitment to attracting and retaining talent who are focused on delivering the calibre of projects that our customers need – and who advance sustainability within the industries we service."
