I've had several friends on our email list send emails asking if we made it back OK, so I guess my quick "We're back!" notice sent Friday afternoon didn't make it to everyone!

Rest assured... we made it back to Denver safe and sound last Friday a little after noon.  The entire team is in good spirits although understandably sad to leave our dear friends in Kabul and Barek Aub.  Everyone is now catching up on sleep and trying to adjust to life back on Denver time.

It truly was an extraordinary week of fellowship, friendship, and building relationships with Afghan friends new and old as well as among the team.  I know I speak for all the team members when I say that sharing time with our Afghan friends has left an indelible mark on our hearts and we are blessed with an abundance of memories that will last a lifetime.  I have a feeling several on the team have not made their last trip to Afghanistan.

Speaking of... I'll be leading another team to Kabul June 23-July 2.  If you've ever considered joining us as part of a Flatirons International Partnership Team, you can go to the Flatirons website where you'll find the date of the first Info Meeting and links to the Trip & Meeting Dates, Info Packet, Application, and the Blog of daily updates from all previous team trips.  It's not too late to consider applying to join the team leaving in 12 short weeks.

I will try to update our last day in Kabul very soon as well as write about those two days when I was unable to write.  As always you can read previous updates from this and other trips at our BarekAub.com website as well as see photos from previous trips.  I expect to have lots of photos from this recent trip posted by the end of the week.

Thank you for your encouragement and faithful support of the ongoing work in Afghanistan.  Look for more updates coming in June!
