Bag Making is FUN!
May 12th, 2023
a bi-monthly publication of StudioKat Designs
 Issue #246

So... here are just back from a fantastic week at the AQS Quiltweek Show in Paducah, KY! It was great fun catching up with old friends and meeting lots of new folks too!
AND...we "spied" quite a few gals walking about the show sporting their SKD bags and looking pretty great doing so as you can see at left! (For a closer look, click HERE)
But here's the deal...in less than 48 hours we're leaving this joint for a superfun vacation with a few friends, so with that in mind, I'm going to get back to work while you get started on today's issue of "Bag Making is FUN"!

What Was I Writing About Back Then?

I have such a large archive of writing on our website that sometimes I like to go back and see what I was writing about during a particular week in the past. And guess what? Turns out, rereading these posts brought back some really GREAT memories this time. I hope you enjoy them too!

1 Years Ago: 5/9/22- AQS Paducah'22- Seen at Show see any familiar faces?
2 Years Ago: 5/15/21- Six Shades of Grey

A New Season Has Started- Next in Fashion

So... we're excited to watch season 2 of the British series, Next in Fashion on Netflix. Such an unusually creative and weirdly inspiring show!

Click HERE to see the official trailer for Season 2. One thing about this show, it's never boring! and in view of the writer's strike, very soon all that will be left to watch on TV is reality shows, and this one is a total  break from the norm! Laughing

An Inspiring Website- Workspaces

There's something so fun about peeking into someone else's creative space. (Take my word for it, my workspace isnt nearly this interesting! )
We just subscribed to Workspaces, a newsletter that delivers one to your inbox each Saturday and Sunday!  (loving this one and this and ESPECIALLY the one shown at left!).

Rest in Peace- Gordon Lightfoot

Gordon Lightfoot found success on the US pop charts in 1970 with the song “If You Could Read My Mind.” That track also earned the artist his second of four Grammy nominations, that one for best male pop vocal performance. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau described the folk icon as “one of our greatest singer-songwriters” in a tweet Monday night expressing his condolences.  “Gordon Lightfoot captured our country’s spirit in his music – and in doing so, he helped shape Canada’s soundscape".  Click HERE to read more.

Going... Going... and soon GONE!   the Uptown SaddleBag

After many years of popularity, we're officially retiring the Uptown SaddleBag pattern.
Besides being a convenient size, making it a super everyday bag, this bag is fun to make and even MORE fun to play around with exterior options. (The segmented exterior you see at right is an included option. It can also be made with a flat exterior.)

So click HERE for more information, to see WAY more pictures and to pick up your copy at the bargain price of only...
$7.00 as long as supplies last!
