Jane Hirshfield is the author of six previous collections of poetry, a now-classic book of essays (Nine Gates: Entering the Mind of Poetry), and three books collecting the work of women poets from the past. Her awards include fellowships from the Guggenheim and Rockefeller foundations, the Academy of American Poets, and the National Endowment for the Arts. She was elected Chancellor of the Academy of American Poets in 2012.
Jennifer Arin's numerous awards include a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, a PEN Writer’s Fund grant, Poets & Writers’ Writers-On-Site residency, a Say the Word National Poetry Competition Prize, a Robert Browning award, three Prix Poésie de Paris Ouest, and a Solas Culture and Ideas award. She teaches in the English department at San Francisco State University, and is writing a book of essays about her sojourns in Europe.
