James 1:5-7 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord.

TEACH US TO PRAY WITH CONFIDENCE

Does this sound like God is saying: "If you are unintelligent, ask and wisdom will be given to you?" In the context here, James isn't speaking of wisdom in general, but the wisdom to see those various trials as benefits to our faith.

I know this may come as a shock to you (not really), but we may find it difficult to believe God is working good for us through trial. It's a good thing that God invites us here to pray, to ask Him for the wisdom to see trial as a benefit. Moreover, He promises to hear that prayer and grant the needed wisdom.

Let us ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach and it will be given! God won't say, "Well, I don't think you deserve it." He gives without reservation. He won't be disgusted with our weakness if we come to Him trembling, seeking His help. He gives without reservation and without rebuke. He wants us to be wise, so ask for the wisdom to see trial as a good thing.

My Dear Christians see here also that God would by trials prompt us to pray, and to pray confidently to Him.

God help us that we never come to Him doubting that He will answer, unsure of His love for us. God has provided ample proof that He is trustworthy. He has not only provided for our earthly lives, He has given us the life that will never end, through the suffering and death of His perfect, sinless Son. God invites His children (those who trust in Jesus) to ask, and promises to hear and answer! God help us to mature in our faith and to pray with confidence.

We should learn from our trials. When God delivers us from trial and trouble we should learn to trust Him to do it again and again. This kind of learning is called "Christian maturity". God help us to mature in our faith and to pray with confidence.
