ALWAYS A WINNER
I just finished watching my favorite football team win its first game of the season. It was a good feeling. Will they win next week? Maybe, but sooner or later they will lose. Sooner or later they will let me down. Sports fans can tell you that following a team (especially my team) can be an emotional roller coaster ride. On any given week you go from agony to ecstasy and back again.
Things that involve imperfect people are like that -- up and down, undependable, where you just don't know what to expect.
Not so with my Savior-God. He never lets me down. He never drops the ball in my life. He never fumbles away opportunities to bless me. Jesus' love for me is constant, never wavering for a moment. When I confess my sins to Him I can depend on Him to forgive me every time. No matter what happens to me in this life, my loving Lord will perfectly work it all out for my eternal good. With Him, I don't have to hold my breath and wonder if I really will end up on the winning side come the Judgment Day. Right now, already, I have an everlasting championship, a fadeless crown of victory and glory waiting for me.
All praise to the Lamb Who sits upon the throne! His shed blood makes me a winner for time and eternity!
