Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.

PREACHERS OF JESUS' RIGHTEOUSNESS

God not only saved Noah from the flood, but also made him an heir of righteousness. God received Noah by faith, and credited him with righteousness. He accepted him as his child and heir as He did Abel, Abraham and every other Christ-believer. Noah didn't earn or deserve God’s rescue. Rather, God's mercy in Christ determined to rescue him.

God has also rescued you from death eternal by granting you faith in His Son, Jesus. God sees you as His child by faith. God accepts you and sees you as righteous because Jesus was your perfect, sinless substitute. For so it is written: "It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification" (Romans 4:24-25).

Do you ever feel like you are alone in the world and the world is getting more wicked by the day? Don't let fear overtake you and don't act like there is nothing you can do. God grant you boldness and make you a "preacher of righteousness" like Noah (2 Peter 2:5) in both word and deed.

When you see the rainbow in the sky, remember it as the sign given by God which promises that He will never again judge the world by means of a flood. Let it also remind you that God has promised that the day is coming when He will come to bring final judgment upon sinful human beings and this sinful world.

We, like Noah, have been divinely warned of things to come. We are to be earnest preachers of righteousness, proclaiming to the world that righteousness with God is obtained by faith in Christ and what He has done.

May both our lips and our lives speak of the mercy and grace of our God in the midst of an ungodly world. Amen.
