Hello & Welcome!
So... this has been a REALLY HARD week here, sad to say! Those of you who have had to place a parent in managed care against their will should understand where I'm coming from. The harsh accusations & cruel words have been hard to handle & difficult to "unhear"..
My concentration is shot & I only just finished this newsletter & got it in the cue at 11:50pm... 15 minutes prior to the 12:05am publish time.
So... while I head off for some much needed rest, I hope you enjoy this issue of "Bag Making is Fun!" and that you find no glaring mistakes!

"Eye Candy" Showcase for August 2023

This is Sue Evans' 2nd Sling Along! Sue said that since making her last bag she has watched our bias tape video series and it made all the difference this time. (Her bias tape DOES look fabulous, right?!)

Mae Cadwell made both of these Odyssey's and this time she made a couple of changes to suit her personal style! I'm also pleased that Mae is the 1st to have documented the use of our brand-new multi-color tweed zipper in the Odyssey at left.
|
|
Ellen Fontaine used this fun "sugar skull" fabric to make this Sling Along for her cousin and like Sue (above). Ellen said the binding came easier to her this time after viewing our video series on bias tape binding.

 I met Marthe Jones on a recent trip and it didnt take long b4 I found out that Marthe was a "Bag Lady" for her LQS & has made several of our bag designs, one of which is the Boho Baguette you see at right.. |
|
 And here we have an Odyssey which was modified by Monica Perkins to make it wider. I love the fabric Monica chose but what I love even more is the embroidery she added to the front flap closure! |

And Jodie Denhardt says that she finally finished her summer Sling Along! She used a water-resistant fabric for the Bag Front but cautioned that it was really tough to deal with!

 And finally,here's the very 1st SKD bag that Ann Powell has made, a totally stunning Gemini FlightBag! Ann says that she purposely did NOT even use her choicest fabric for this 1st bag, and considering how amazing this bag is...I can't wait to see her 2nd Gemini FlightBag! |

A cat who helps his deaf owner by alerting her to sounds around the house has won a national award. Zebby, a two-year-old black and white cat from Chesterfield, in Derbyshire, was named Cats Protection's National Cat of the Year.

So I've been hunting for a source for "Vinyl ID Holders" for several years! Sure I can make a fabric ID Holder, or even a part fabric/ part vinyl ID Holder, but these new pre-made ID Holders are the "cat's pajamas"!
