Polar Opposites
Thank you everyone for your support of Lawrence Howard's latest story in the Armchair Adventurer series: Polar Opposites  Amundsen, Scott and The Race For The Pole. This story was conceived, directed, and performed by Lawrence. He worked very hard on it for over a year; that effort really paid off! Every night Hipbone was full with rapt listeners and people were on the edge of their seats. The audience was simply enthralled. People told us:

"Once again another riveting story told in a very masterful way. Every time I listen to your stories, I feel like I'm right there in the moment. Bravo. Loved it!"

"Lawrence Howard's artful rendition of the race to the South Pole is a joy!"

"Brilliant, absolutely brilliant."

"Lawrence makes it seem simple. He effortlessly makes the story come alive."

"We felt the extraordinary danger of the adventure. We were there with him in Antarctica."

If you missed the show, it was recorded and we plan to release a CD later this year.

A Word About Workshops...
Portland Story Theater is excited about the enthusiasm that people have shown for our workshop The Art of Personal Narrative. We are wanting to expand in this area and offer more workshops. Can you help us guage the level of interest you have in participating? We are in the process of creating a separate mailing list for people who are wanting to share their personal story at an Urban Tellers event. So far, we have about 75 people on that separate workshop list. We plan to offer at least one workshop per quarter but can only accommodate 7 people in each workshop. It requires a firm commitment from you for 7 session, including your performance. The Spring workshop is already full but Summer looks promising. We look forward to hearing from you and possibly working together to discover your personal narrative. Please write to us at tellers@portlandstorytheater.com with the subject: workshops. Thanks!
