HE WHO HAS EYES TO SEE . . .

The world is full of miracles that God is continually working. But because they are so countless and so common, we give them little thought.

Christ once fed five thousand men, not counting women and children, with five loaves, and when they had all had enough, there were twelve baskets of leftovers. If such a miracle happened now, the entire world would be amazed.

But that God is daily, constantly, working great miracles, the sinful human heart fails to note or consider amazing or give thanks for. Every day God the Lord gives water from the rocks; bread from the sand; wine, beer, butter, cheese, and vegetables of all kinds from the earth. But because He gives them lavishly and constantly no one considers it a miracle.

The blind world, forgetting Him, thinks it all comes by chance. But those who love Him, wherever they turn their eyes, whether to the heavens or the earth, the air or the water, see plain, obvious miracles of God -& countless things that fill us with joy and wonder, gladness and delight. Here are countless reasons to praise our Creator and to know for a fact that He delights in blessing us. The whole world is full of miracles that we need to see clearly and not overlook because they are so common.

Even in the smallest creatures, yes, even in their least members, we see the almighty power and the great wonder working of God. For what human being, however powerful, wise, or good, can make out of a fig a fig tree -- or even one other fig? Or out of a cherry stone a cherry tree, or even understand how God does it? None of us truly understand what God has done, and is still ceaselessly doing. The growth of every seed is truly a work of creation. God is constantly making visible things out of invisible, and invites us do the same. But we reverse His way and insist on seeing and understanding a thing before we will believe it.
