 Attention Performers Come and make the Scotland Island Fire Station the Performing Arts Centre of Pittwater ! As part of the Watermarks Exhibition 19 and 20 September, we want performers, of all types and ages, to come and entertain the exhibition visitors who will be stopping off at the Station for a cool drink and bite to eat. Interested? Email timbyrne@live.com.au and we will see what magic can be created to complement the great visual arts that will be on display. Women On Water September WOW is on Wednesday 9th and it is a special one. We are having a WOW excursion. Gwenda (from up McCarrs Ck) is temporarily living in the historic original house at Cottage Point while her home is being renovated and has offered to hold WOW there. We are planning to meet at Church Point and go by car (sharing of course). The plan is to leave after the 11:10am ferry comes in so if you are coming to the Point by tinny be at the Reserve by about 11:15am for an 11:30am departure. I can take my car with me and 4 passengers and I am sure we will have enough cars available one way or the other. It is important to reply if you are coming so we don't leave without you and we know how many cars we need to arrange. Apart from it being an excursion, everything else is the same, ie: Start: At midday Where: Gwenda's place 3 Cottage Point Road (opposite the entrance to the Cottage Point Yacht Club and the steps to the Cottage Point Inn and the walkway to the Cottage Point kiosk. You can't miss it! Bring: Something to drink and food to share. Tea and coffee will be provided. Topic: The 'Good Weekend' 28 August carried an article on Dolly Parton......' Everyone says that to get to know Dolly, you have to see where she came from.' What, in our past, most clearly defines the women we are today? This can be viewed from a personal or cultural perspective. I have been to the house and it is lovely as are the surroundings, so please come as it will be a fun day.
