Luke 11:28 Blessed are those who hear the Word of God and keep it.
THE WORD IS USED
One way we keep food pure is by putting it in a freezer, but when the time comes to use it, we take it out to eat and share. But let's not ever put God's word "on the shelf" anywhere, unused and neglected -- surely not in any deep freeze.
God's word is kept pure not by cold but by heat -- by the fire of the Spirit who inspired it and Who moves our hearts to treasure it by faithfully using it every day . . . and eagerly giving it away.
The miracle of the loaves is repeated whenever we share Jesus, the Bread of Life. The more we distribute, the more we have.
God's Word is our great heritage
And shall be ours forever;
To spread its light from age to age
Shall be our chief endeavor.
Through life it guides our way,
In death it is our stay.
Lord, grant, while worlds endure,
We keep its teachings pure.
Throughout all generations.
