Romans 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
HOPE BY THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
An old country song says something about "looking for love in all the wrong places." So many today are looking for hope in all the wrong places. They place their hopes in material possessions, or government programs, or new relationships, or secular education, or in science and technology. They look but they don't find, for there is no real hope in any of this.
Don't lose hope! If you want hope again, start reading your Bible, God's Word, again. Make Sunday morning worship and personal Bible reading a top priority again. Open up the word, and the Holy Spirit will make hope come alive and abound in your hearts.
Don't lose hope! That terrible thing you did has been forgiven -- all your sins have been forgiven! No matter how sinful you are, you're not a lost cause. Christ paid for everyone of your sins with His holy life and shed blood. God's Word says so, and the Holy Spirit, working through the Word, will fill you with all joy and peace!
Don't lose hope! Even though one day your body will lie in the dust, God will raise it, and glorify it, and bring you to Himself in heaven. Nothing can separate you from the love of God in Christ. Not even death. God's Word says so, and the Holy Spirit wants you to trust these glorious truths more and more as He touches your heart through the Word.
Only the Mighty Word of God brought to us by the Loving Holy Spirit can give a sinner real hope. A hope in Christ! A hope found in the Word of God! A hope that is certain and that can never fail! AMEN!
