Cat saves new owner's life just hours after being adopted!
Another great reason to adopt from a shelter. Think of all
the great pets being "wasted" in shelters. It's a myth to
think they all have "baggage" and would be hard to bond with
in a new home. Not all pets taken to shelters have been abused
or neglected. Most, in fact, are simply there because their owners
had no other options due to some last minute changes in their own
lives. These pets usually are grateful for their new homes. Like
this cat:

There's still time to have your story appear in my
next book. Just send me your cat story by Oct. 30
so I have time to look it over and format it to fit,
and we can have this book out in time for holiday shopping!

Help Feed Shelter Animals

Don't forget to visit these sites as often as you can and
click on the shelter-feed links. There is no cost to you
to do this, but it can only be done once per day.

even a wrong answer gives a donation.)

You can sign up for their daily reminders, too, if you need
a little nudge, like I do.

PRODUCTS FOR PETS

As if the food recalls aren't bad enough, now we have to worry
about the bowls too?

Stainless steel bowls are being recalled for radioactive
materials used in the manufacturing process. Yep, you read
that right. It appears that the country in question (they're
not saying which country, but I think we all have a real
good idea who it is) may have used scrap metal that included
Cobalt60, which is a radioactive material. Here's the story:

WEBSITES FOR CAT LOVERS
===================================

If you ever need to advertise a lost or found pet, or
promote one for adoption, this is a great site to use
to create nice-looking flyers:

http://petbond.com/flyerentry.php

Be sure to visit their adoption pages, too. In fact,
they also have a free service that allows people to
list their adoptable pets on their site.

TAKE ACTION TO HELP ANIMALS IN NEED
===================================
How to help animals:

1. http://www.hipaws.com/help.html
Help feed the ones that never got adopted.

2. Always remember to check with your local shelter
to see what they need. Your donation will go directly
to the animals, in sharp contrast to some of the large
national groups, whose donation income goes toward
large administrative salaries and other expenses, not
necessarily for animals. That said, there is one large
sanctuary I do endorse: http://www.deltarescue.org.

May all who are lost, be found. May all who are ill,
be well. May all in harm's way, be saved. May all
without homes, be loved.
