Exhibition and Conference on Waste Management and Recycling for South-East Europe
5-7 April 2016, Sofia, Bulgaria, Organizer: Via Expo
Save the Planet is one of the flagship events in South-East Europe, that creates a win-win business ground for the local and foreign industry players. Despite the progress of waste management in the Region, the sector still falls behind the European standards with low levels of reuse, recycling and energy recovery.
The programming period (2014-2020) is promising - Bulgaria will make investments of 1,77 billion EUR funded by the OP Environment. A programme is adopted with the objective to prepare for the re-use and recycling of waste paper, metal, plastic and glass. The building up of composting installations and encouraging home composting are among the priorities in the next seven years.
If you are interested to become one of the exhibitors, take advantage of the Early Bird registration until 1 October 2015 and get the most out of the following preferences:

Save the Planet will be held under the patronage of Sofia Municipality, which is launching projects for circular economy
Experts from Sofia Municipality have announced that they will work on a circular economy project along with European cities such as Lisbon, Brussels and Paris. It will be implemented with EU funding. The aim is to analyze the reuse of waste, its implementation into the economy and utilization as a resource. The municipality will also have to develop a circular economy plan.
Furthermore, another Eco project is being planned – pellets made out of wood from the parks, which can be burned in small installations. For this purpose, the municipality will have to buy equipment for crushing wood.
Via Expo continues its successful partnership with the European Demolition Association (EDA). Think tank about pre-demolition audit and waste flows from demolition sites is the topic of the forthcoming event, being held on 15 October in Brussels (Belgium).
Demolition is about handling the space change, transforming waste (what used to be construction products) into new resources and creating at the same time room for future development.
Everyone involved on this process, from the general public, to construction product manufacturers, public administrations,… and the demolition industry itself, is very interested to work towards a circular economy (oriented to reuse and recycle as much as possible). To generate this circular economy and to make sure the goals on recycling are achieved there are two key aspects to be prepared to detail: the pre-demolition audit (also known as waste management assessment) and the tracking of waste flows from demolition sites. For this purpose, the European Demolition Association, EDA, organizes this second think tank and will invite the related stakeholders to participate. For more info,  click here
Dutch Waste Management Association: Partner in the circular  economy
The Dutch Waste Management Association (DWMA) represents the national and international interests of waste companies active in the Netherlands. Since April the DWMA has a slogan: partner in the circular economy.  The waste sector plays a crucial role in creating the circular economy and the members of the DWMA have the expertise that is needed. The circular economy is all about partnerships. To close material cycles partners must find each other, exchange information and realise opportunities. Manufacturers, the waste and recycling sector, government, civil society, scientists, designers and consumers have a responsibility. If all parties in the value chain cooperate, we can create the circular economy. The DMWA welcomes new partners and is open to all parties with an interest in recovering raw materials from waste.
Two authoritative magazines have a statute ‘Official Media Partner’:
recovery – Recycling Technology Worldwide is the trade magazine for the recycling industry.
Its focus is clear – it deals with the technology, the process, the machines and equipment. No raw materials prices, no tips on operations management – it is all about day-to-day work with and on the machines. That makes recovery – Recycling Technology Worldwide unique. As an advertising vehicle, recovery – Recycling Technology Worldwide therefore offers very special access to the technical decision-makers in the global recycling industry – in print and online!
The new edition has some accents: Refigeration (BHS Sonthofen: Distinguished for its environmentally), Waste (Regionally and nationally active family business) and  Battery (A valued resource). You can download it   here
Ecology & Infrastructure is the first and only Bulgarian magazine for products and technologies for ecology and infrastructure. It is published since the beginning of 2012 and written by the professionals, which for 18 years publish the industrial magazine of Bulgaria – Engineering Review.
