Native Plant Conservation Campaign News: Online tools available to help you engage with elected officials and advocate for native plants, science and conservation.

The Native Plant Conservation Campaign and our partners at the Endangered Species Coalition and elsewhere have developed new online resources for conservation and science advocacy

These resources can help you more easily and effectively engage the public, candidates and elected officials on the issues. We hope they will be useful. If there are comments or criticisms, please let us know so we can make these tools better.

The Get Out the Wild Vote Toolkit offers

Ways to check if your voter registration is up to date, if you can vote early, and other voting mechanics for your area
A voter pledge you can take to support plants and wildlife. The pledge shows candidates and elected officials your commitment to voting and the environment and will remind you when elections are occurring in your area.
A guide for nonprofit 501c3 organizations to help them register voters and get out the vote without endangering their nonprofit status
Scorecards from various watchdog groups to inform you and your organizations about the positions and voting records of candidates and elected officials.
Guides to help you engage candidates and elected officials on the issues, customized for your region. The Guides help you identify times and places to meet your representatives and even provide sample questions to make it easier to start a conversation.

Brochures: NPCC Brochures are available for use at your events and venues.

We offer brochures to educate the public and decisionmakers that address the range and importance of ecosystem services from native plant communities (e.g. water purification, storm protection, pollinator habitat, flood control, improved air quality)

The American Institute of Biological Sciences has announced that registration is now open for the 10th annual Biological Sciences Congressional District Visits event.

This national initiative is an opportunity for biologists across the country to meet with their federal or state elected officials to showcase the people, facilities, and equipment that are required to support and conduct scientific research. This initiative helps to put a face on science and to remind lawmakers that science is happening in their district and state.
