Next week Wednesday is the Annual Projected Image Competition - this is the highlight of the projected image year and is being judged by Leo Rich ARPS DPAGB APAGB EFIAP/s. This will be the last meeting at the West Mall clubrooms, so no doubt many a tear will be shed, some because you didn't win the Annual and some because we are leaving for pastures new - either way I recommend bringing along a plentiful supply of tissues!
|
Sorry for the brevity of this edition, but the rest of the Unit 13 team and I have been working flat out over the last week or so to try to get the new premises ready on time and to be perfectly honest we're knackered and a glass of the amber nectar had more appeal than sitting in front of a keyboard typing a newsletter.
|
Would all members please note that this year's AGM takes place on Wednesday 8 July. All motions for the AGM must be received by the Secretary at least 5 weeks prior to this date (3 June at the latest). All motions must be in writing and signed by the proposer and a seconder.
|
Can all holders of competition cups please make sure that they are returned to Keith Wood by the end of May.
|
Would members who entered this year's Bristol Salon please note that their catalogues are now in the clubrooms for collection.
|
Contrary to last weeks newsletter, next Wednesday is the closing date for the Annual Print Competition, the judge will be Margaret Salisbury FRPS EFIAP FIPF APAGB. If you have a ny queries, please contact Margaret Collis collismuriel@talktalk.net.
The rules are as below:
The competition consists of the following classes:
The Annual is a single competition for prints and members may submit a
maximum of: Advanced - 7 prints, Intermediate 5 prints and Beginners 4
prints. Any category mix can make up the total. Entries should be
numbered starting at 1; if the total entry exceeds 180, the highest
numbered prints will be removed, (e.g. No 7 for advanced, No 5 for
intermediate and No 4 for beginners) until the total reaches 180. Anyone
wishing to enter the Natural History section must nominate the print
he/she would like to be considered for these awards. In addition to the
usual awards, the judge will be asked to select the best travel, people,
action, landscape, creative and monochrome prints from the whole entry
(i.e. all classes). A cup will be awarded to the best image in the
competition; certificates will be awarded to the other winners. An image
entered in this competition may not be entered in the Annual Projected
Image competition in the same year.
|
