Luke 12:32 "Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom."

NO FEAR NEEDED

The main idea of this verse is expressed by Jesus in His first four words: Do not be afraid.

Jesus spoke these words to his followers. They were part of the Sermon on the Mount. Right before He said this, Jesus had been telling the disciples not to get caught up worrying about food and clothing.

Jesus didn't want His followers to be worried about where their next meal would come from or whether they would be properly clothed for the winter. Jesus said, "But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well" (Luke 12:31).

Jesus directs us to spend our energy seeking God's ruling in our hearts and lives. Jesus assures us that as we seek to live life God's way, we can be sure that He will care for our needs.

Jesus cited the birds of the air. They don't store things in barns. They don't save up for later. And yet God feeds them. He also cited the flowers of the field. They don't spin and weave. And yet God clothes them beautifully.

Surely, if God cares for the animals and the plants of this world, He won't forget about those who are His children through faith in His Son. For the child of God no fear is needed. The God who saved us will also serve us -- with everything we need for body and life.
