Hereby our first newsletter for 2016.
During the past few months we have, once again, organized several study tours, training programmes and business matchmaking assignments for international agro professionals. In the morning the IGMA terminal in the Amsterdam harbor was visited. The participants received an extensive and expert explanation by Cefetra of all the trade and logistic activities regarding GMO and non-GMO raw materials. The participants were able to take a closer look aboard of a harbor vessel of the unloading of a sea ship.
After lunch presentations of RIKILT Wageningen UR and the Ministry of Economic Affairs enlightened the enforcement of GMO and non-GMO segregation in the Netherlands. Also the Dutch position regarding the opt-out possibility for EU countries for GMO products was discussed.
A VIP Water Taxi brought the group, after a touristic trip through the Amsterdam canals, back to the conference hotel. And so HollandDoor succeeded in organizing an informative and full day program in an area of a few square kilometer.

Chinese teachers trained in food safety | |
In August HollandDoor organized on request of Kenlog, a few training days about food safety and quality control in The Netherlands. The training was given for four Chinese lecturers from a High school near Beijng, coming to the Netherlands for a 3 weeks program on Food processing and Quality control, organized by Kenlog.
HollandDoor taught the group about EU legislation, the span of control of the Dutch government, responsibilities of the private companies and the role the certification bodies play in the value chain of fresh produce and processed food. The Chinese delegation also visited the microbiology laboratories of Blgg AgroXpertus and had a very interesting meeting with their colleagues at VHL in Velp. Read more... |

Vietnamese growers informed on packaging of fruit and vegetables | |
In May 2015, HollandDoor organized, on request of the Center for High-Tech Application and Development in Agriculture (HTES) in Hanoi, Vietnam, a tailor-made training on Export promotion for Vietnamese fruit and vegetables exporters. Read more…
Because of this successful training, HTES requested HollandDoor to organize another tailor-made training in December. The objective this time was to learn about trends and developments related to packaging materials and methods. The program contained lectures which were illustrated with field visits.
Vietnam is also working on labor integration of mentally or physically disabled people in the Vietnamese agro sector. During the training some field visits were organized to illustrate how this works in The Netherlands. Read more...

Potential new partner of DS group visits India | |
Early 2015, Dharampal Satyapal Group (DS Group / www.dsgroup.com) from India approached HollandDoor to assist in their search for a Dutch joint-business development partner.
In October HollandDoor visited India with a prospective partner. The visit was organized to get further acquainted with each other. And additionally to look at the opportunities to start a joint venture in the development of large scale production of essential flower oils in India.
Both the potential partner and HollandDoor experienced a well-organized trip and felt at home from the start. After 3 days of visiting the present production areas, possible new sites and the factory, both companies signed a letter of intent to further develop a possible partnership.
