Hello Everyone,
BIG news and PARTY time!
On Thursday June 14th, 6-9 pm we will be hosting a Silent Auction Fundraising Party featuring artwork from Ed. Varie artists and friends, with starting bids very modest! A great way to show your support and collect art, win win y'all.
As of March Ed. Varie became a fiscally sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Charitable donations to benefit Ed. Varie must be made in accordance with the program guidelines set forth by Fractured Atlas.
Donations and contributions are vital for Ed. Varie to maintain its platform of open programming and allow artists to take meaningful and substantial leaps in their practice. This indispensable support will give us the financial strength to stand by our vision and mission to bring artists in the early stages of their career to the large and influential art market in Manhattan, that is historically, and increasingly difficult, for young artists to permeate.
We are appealing to you, our dear friends and family that believe in what we do, and want to see Ed. Varie succeed and continue to be an independent institution for emerging and mid-career artists from all disciplines, and from all parts of the globe to rally in support and make a donation of any size!

Ed. Varie is an independent gallery and art space in the East Village’s Alphabet City. Inspired by the fundamentals of open programming, Ed. Varie is dedicated to creating a space for artists. Ed. Varie fosters all forms of contemporary art, and offers a platform for established as well as emerging artists to explore new concepts and take unchartered risks in their practice. Ed. Varie supports a wide range of artists nationally and internationally, as well maintains a permanent library of limited edition art books from independent and micro-niche publishers.
Once home to one of the first anarchist bookstores in Manhattan in the late 80’s, then followed by nearly 20 years as gallery and studio for East Village artists, the storefront that Ed. Varie occupies is a seasoned art venue.
After many years of neglect from apathetic landlords, Ed. Varie was lovingly restored entirely with recycled and reclaimed materials, and transformed into a casual and comfortable environment that, we hope, once you arrive, you relax and stay for a bit.
***Ed. Varie is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions for the purposes of Ed. Varie must be made payable to Fractured Atlas and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
