Next Wednesday Peter Metelerkamp will be visiting BPS with his talk that was originally scheduled for 17 July. This promises to be an excellent evening of documentary photography from this well known local photographer.
|
The next studio event is now arranged; by popular demand, it will be a return visit to a Karate Club in Clevedon starting at 6:30pm on Thursday 15 August. There is a limit of 6 photographers and it will be on a first come first served basis. As always, once the initial places are filled, there will be a waiting list and anyone who signs up on the waiting list will get priority at a future event. We have visited this club once before but they now have a new venue.
Please follow this link to sign up for the evening.

Society of Biology’s amateur photography competition is now open for entries, the deadline being 31 July. The theme is ‘Feeding Life’ and they are seeking original amateur photographs that encapsulate this theme. The following is an extract from their publicity:
Food provides the foundation to life. Not only can we not live without food, but the wrong diet can have serious health consequences. Biology research and field work play a vital role in understanding how all organisms on the planet receive the energy they need to keep on living.
There are 2 categories in the competition, each with a cash prize:
• Photographer of the Year (over 18) - £1000 top prize
• Young Photographer of the Year (under 18) - £500 top prize and a copy of Adobe Lightroom.
