Ephesians 3:6 This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.
IN CHRIST, HEAVEN IS YOUR INHERITANCE
In the 1960s a woman by the name of Maureen Blake received some startling and life changing news. Maureen had worked as a music teacher for decades when a very distant relation of hers died. This distant relation had the amazing name of "Sir George Cospatrick Duff-Sutherland-Dunbar, Baron Dunbar of Hempriggs." He died at his estate in Caithness, Scotland.
Although it took some time for the lawyers to figure it all out, the heir to this nobleman's estate was determined to be none other than this modest and unremarkable music teacher.
Imagine receiving a message like this. You're at home just doing whatever, getting ready for tomorrow's errands and deadlines and responsibilities and you hear a knock at the door. It's a man from the Dunbar estate. He says the Baron has passed, and he's left everything to you.
Paul's message to us is even better. Because of the life of Jesus, we are heirs of HEAVEN. We're sinners who don't deserve forgiveness or eternal bliss. But God's Son became human for us. He was punished for our sins. He died a horrific death in our place. And because He did all this for us, we have been given His estate.
Because of what Jesus did for YOU, you will inherit sinless perfection and eternal peace at God's side.
