Dear Neighbor,

Hoboken’s Mayoral election is just a month away.

On the ballot, voters will choose three at-large Council Members from a crowded field of 15 candidates. I am proud to endorse Councilman Joe Quintero, Commissioner Steve Firestone, and Caitlin Layson for Council-at-Large.

Joe is running for re-election to the City Council. Joe is a proven leader on our most important issues. From day one, Joe has led on public safety issues, instituting Community and Public Safety forums, ensuring our firefighters are appropriately staffed, and hiring more cops to tackle quality of life crimes. Joe also has led the charge standing up to landlords, protecting renters, and preserving Hoboken’s rent control and affordability protections. Joe is an engaged public servant, and I am proud to call him my friend.

Steve served with me as a fellow Commissioner on the Hoboken Zoning Board for a number of years. Steve earned the reputation of a smart, prepared commissioner, and a good listener. Steve was elected by his fellow commissioners to serve as Chair of the Zoning Board. Steve is an Associate Professor of Finance and Chairs the Department of Business at Drew University. Steve’s collaborative approach and commitment to our community make him well-suited to serve on the Council.

Born-and-raised in Hoboken, Caitlin has worked in Hoboken’s public school system as a special education teacher. Caitlin attended the Wallace School, Mustard Seed, and high school at The Hudson School. A tenant who understands the importance of protecting renters and keeping Hoboken affordable, Caitlin has a passion for public service.  Caitlin is the mother of a one-year-old daughter who knows the challenges facing Hoboken’s young families.

Joe, Caitlin and Steve appear as 1, 2, and 3 in Column H on the “Team Emily” slate. Join me in supporting the “Team EmilyCouncil slate. Vote 1H, 2H, & 3H

Thank you for voting,
Phil Cohen
