Dear Friend: On behalf of African-Americans for Chelsa Wagner, we ask you to join us in supporting Chelsa Wagner for Allegheny County Controller. Rep. Chelsa Wagner has a track record of fighting for the issues that are important to our community. Rep. Chelsa Wagner has stood up for working families, seniors and children in this struggling economy. As a state legislator, Chelsa Wagner fought public transit cuts, kept our neighborhood libraries open and invested in economic development projects. When the Governor appointed a stimulus oversight commission with only one African American, one woman and no one from Western Pennsylvania, she called on the Governor to make the panel more representative of our state's diversity and geography. In Harrisburg, she has taken on the special interests and helped institute some of the most significant reforms at the state level in decades. Since taking office she has refused a taxpayer funded car, introduced campaign finance reform legislation and has given her pay raise to charity. Chelsa Wagner has the background in law and finance to the job and the vision to find solutions to make government more efficient, effective and inclusive. We need a tough independent fiscal watchdog that will bring reform, leadership and results to county government.
