Anzac Day Service Live
Stream
Saturday April 25
10.55am - 11.15am
The Scotland Island & offshore community Anzac Day
service that has been running for more than 40 years will
go ahead this coming Saturday, April 25, in a format
designed to meet social distancing requirements.
Rather than the annual gathering at Church Point, the
service will be broadcast live via the Scotland
Island & Offshore Community Facebook private group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/140459236560929/)
from 10.55am to approximately 11.15am.
If
you are not yet a group member, please request to
join prior to Saturday.
Councillor Ian White will MC the Anzac service and local
trumpeter Harley Ratcliff will play The Last Post and
Reveille.
Traditional periods of silence and the flag raising
ceremony will be observed.
This is not a community gathering.
Please enjoy the service from your home and place flowers
at the foot of the ANZAC memorial stone at Church Point in
your own time, if you wish.
Any Old Iron, Any Old Iron…!
Winter is coming in and it’s time to light the fire.
We have just installed a new fire and no longer need a
fire guard or metal plates to line the fireplace.
The guard is 600mm wide closed and 900mm open and 900mm
high. $25.
The metal plates of varying size can be used as barbecue
plates or to line an open fire. Free to good home!
Items can be collected from
a private wharf in Lovett Bay during this time of social
distancing!
