Our OK2Say assembly went well. I thought our presenter did a good job of weaving factual information into the stories of the students she presented. One of the facts that I had not heard was that 90% of all sexts are shared. I knew it was high but I didn't know it was that high.
Students received the message well. After the assembly was over, I had a chance to speak to about forty students. The vast majority said it was depressing but informative. A group of students said, "it was kind of boring because we've heard that stuff all before here at school." I said that is the best compliment you could have given us at FHS!

Tonight's Powder Puff game has been canceled due to mosquitos and field conditions. We will reschedule for next week.

The student section wants to do a "color powder blast" during Friday night's game. We did it a few years ago. They will be using the same powder that the color runs use. If your child doesn't want to participate, have him/her stay out of the student section until the powder is thrown in the air. It quickly settles down. If it rains, we won't be doing it.

Homecoming festivities will be done at halftime. Again, this is due to the mosquitos. I apologize to the band and band parents. I'm just being more safe than sorry.

Homecoming Dance is Saturday Night from 8:30 - 11:00. My annual plea is for parents not to spend money on shoes, especially for the girls. The first thing they do is walk in and kick their shoes off. Send them in their Converse shoes!
