Projected Image Competition - Round 4
Wednesday 26 Feb is also the closing date for Round 4 of the Projected Image Competition. Entries (or queries) to Jeff Hargreaves at competitions@bristolphoto.org.uk
 
WCPF DPIC
The reason this short edition of the newsletter is late is because I was holding fire until I had the results of the WCPF inter-club projected image competition, DPIC, which was hald at Exeter today. A small contingent of BPS members travelled down the M5 to see BPS do "battle" with 54 other Western Counties Each club provided 20 images which were judged by Maureen Toft, Paul Keene and Brian Swinyard. After a long day and some numb bums and square eyeballs, the results were finally announced and it was both disappointment and elation in the BPS camp; disapointment that we didn't win, but elation that we came a very close second. The final result was:
1st Dorchester CC - 255 points
2nd BPS - 253 points
3rd - Zen Group - 248 points
 
In addition to this, Val Duncan won a Highy Commended for her image "Gull Feeding on Flies Mono Lake". However the possible star of the day was Keith Wood who won .......... the raffle!
 
Another highlight of the day was BPS member, Sue O'Connell, being presented with her DPAGB award. Sue is seen below receiving it from judge, Paul Keene
 
 
Sorry for the quality of the picture, Sue, but you can now see why I stick to admin rather than real photography!
 
Bristol Salon
Judging of the Bristol Salon was held last weekend and BPS members aquitted themselves very well. Total acceptences by members are shown below:

Alzheimer Society Charity Walk
BPS member, Graham Reeves will be attempting to walk from Stonehenge to Avebury for the Alzheimer Society on 6th September.
 
Graham would like to thank all members who have already supported him, but if you haven't already and would still like to, just log onto the following website, http://www.justgiving.com/owner-email/pleasesponsor/Graham-Reeves1, where you will be able to make a donation on line. Several members have indicated that they would prefer to donate via cash or cheque, this is fine and Graham will bring in some sponsorship forms once the Salon is over.

This is a good cause as our ageing population makes us all vulnerable, so please support Graham in this venture.
