Dear Friends,
Those of you who been subscribers for while maybe recall when I did some presentations at the Mother Earth News Fairs a couple years ago. I am happy to announce that our county Chamber of Commerce in Hohenwald, Tennessee, will be hosting its own Modern Homesteaders Expo October 11th through 13th, with a format that mirrors the Mother Earth News Fair.
 
There will be workshops on living off the grid, including how to set up a micro-hydro system. I will be giving a presentation on organic gardening, 9 a.m. Saturday morning. my daughter will be on the beekeeping panel later that afternoon, and also on Saturday afternoon, my next door neighbor will be giving a talk about native grassland restoration, as a representative of Swan Trust. I am hopeful that the event will be successful and continue to grow for many years to come.
 
The cost is only $5 a day. Visit their web page to see the full schedule. Note that the event coincides with the Lewis County annual yard sale, an event which stretches for miles down Highway 20 and attracts thousands of people.
 
Singin' for the Shelter Oct 14
Things are coming together for out benefit concert at Crockett Theater. Myself and other performers will be performing live on local radio station WLX morning show over the next 2 weeks to promote the event. The new web site for The Shelter, is up and has our performance schedule, everything from Southern Gospel to old time banjo and a little rock and roll to close the show.
Luke Richardson is a two time National Champion Old Time banjo player,
playing a set at 3 PM with his wife Lisa on fiddle.
 
There is stll time to sign up for The Farm Experience WeekendOct 19-21. Tours and workshops, our market day, with Dances on Friday night.

My good friend and fellow Farmee Kathleen Rosemary created The Swan Center as an environment to support expanded awareness where healing and growth may occur. If you simply want a restful break, come for rest, recovery, recharging, renewal, your way…Stay for a weekend, a week a month! It’s located just down the road outside The Farm.  
 
Conceived to be a comfy gathering space, a retreat from stress, an example of simple, sustainable construction and of permaculture principles, the vibration permeating the place encourage creative expression and inspiration..

The grounds and buildings are sacred spaces. Silence and privacy are honored. Experience what feelings arise due to your interaction with the high energy on site.
 
The Swan Center is an expression of Kathleen Rosemary’s lifetime calling. She is an ordained minister of healing by the Association for the Integration for the Whole Person, a religious organization which recognizes her desire to share her gifts. Kathleen is a licensed massage therapist and certified Connection Practice leader. She acquired skills, encountered wise men and women, and had mystical experiences over many adventurous decades. She offers energetic support, pastoral counseling, and coaching in various methods for self-care and healing through private sessions, study groups, and seminars.

No doubt by now you have read about the music and Dances of Universal Peace events that have taken place over the last couple months and how much fun everyone is having together. If your soul could use a lift, or you’re just curious, you are welcome to come to any of our scheduled gatherings.
 
Our regular Dance and Kirtan Schedule are subject to my travel plans.

As we enter into this time of shorter days and long dark nights, it is natural for us to turn toward introspection, as we give thanks for the gifts we have received, the challenges we face to make us grow, and the Love that carries us through. Together we dance, our lives as our prayer.
