Hello Firstname

Wednesday 26 August
Next Wednesday is the annual club outing, which this year will be in the Bedminster area of Bristol when the subjects to be photographed will be the recent graffiti that was painted during the Upfest festival of street art held during July. The plan is for members to meet in the Aldi carpark (BS3 1JA) near the Tobacco Factory at 7.05 and then head along towards the Hungry Caterpillar where there's some decent stuff, especially just past the Sally Army and the Baths, where a school has some great artwork. Then we could meet at the Hen & Chicken at 9.00 pm to chat about what wonderful images everyone has taken during the evening.

Photographic Distinctions & Acronyms
Several members have asked me what the various letters that photographers seem to append to the end of their names mean. I have put together (with the help of Pete McCloskey) a list of the most common, together with some of the other acronyms you may see bandied about. To download this list, please follow this link.

2015/2016 BPS Handbook
For those of you who haven't already picked up yours yet, you can find copies just inside the door to the clubroom. Please pick up yours (and tick your name off the list); this will save  postage costs when Derwood comes to sending out any which have not been collected by the end of September.

John Gray
We have heard from a past BPS member, John Gray who left Bristol many years ago to move to Cardiff that he has sadly been diagnosed with an aggressive form of liver cancer for which there is no treatment. There will be a number of BPS members who remember John who might like to contact him, he can be reached on 02920 755872 and would love to hear from his old friends.
