Helen - It looks like and the way your calendar is filling up, that there’s more interest in 90s music now. Tell us about that.
Wade - We definitely have noticed a resurgence in the 90s sound. It’s hard to believe it but young people are getting into the “good ole day’’ music. All of us from that era have noticed a big uptick.
I’m seeing music with melodies and words that you can understand.
Yes, yes, it’s a big difference from the music that’s out now. I was listening to some old Mark Chesnutt yesterday. It’s remarkable how different that music sounded from what’s out today. It’s just so musical and the lyrics are really good. I’m very proud to have been a part of that era. I’m glad we’re all getting busy again and we expect to be even busier next year.
How are your cows doing?
They are very pregnant and doing really good. I’m trying to get stuff ready for them and I just bought a ton of hay and filled the barn. It’s very expensive now. You can’t blame the guys who are selling hay. They run diesel in their tractors and it’s costing a lot more. It’s not their fault, it’s just the way things are now. It’s crazy.
You’ve had a busy schedule lately.
I’ve been very, very busy. I had a few days off so I painted the whole outside of my house and built shutters for it. It looks like a completely different house. It’s really nice now. I’m getting ready to tear the master bath out and re-do it and build a new shower in there. That’s what’s been keeping me very busy. It’s a brick house and it took me a long time to prep it. I got a new roof put on it and new gutters. It looks nice. I look for a house with good bones and I go in and re-do it. Sometimes I keep them 3 months and sometimes 3 years. I expect I’ll be selling this before too long. The county has gotten so busy, it’s nothing like when I got here. I’ve got 15 acres here and you think that would be enough, but I don’t think it is anymore.
