BRAND NEW ART WARS HELMETS NOW ON SHOW IN LOS ANGELES
As part of Art Wars a brand new series of stormtrooper helmets worked on by 20 different artists are now on show at Sur Le Mur Gallery at Pacific Design Centre, Los Angeles. Artists include one of LA's most notorious street artists Retna and UK's Chemical X who has embellished his stormtrooper helmet in over 2000 extacy tablets.

The online auction finsihes this Thursday and Sur Le Mur gallery are hosting a special event this Wednesday from 6 - 9pm giving LA's art lovers one last chance to see the new Art Wars collection in person.
The exhibition curated by Ben Moore will raise funds to benefit two charities, Missing People and the Missing Tom Fund. The Missing Tom Fund was set up by Ben Moore, brother of Thomas Moore who disappeared in 2003 aged 31 years old. His friends and family have not heard from him since then. Now 14 years on, with the support of the Missing People Charity his family continue to search for Tom.

About Joana Vasconcelos: is the the Portuguese artist who adorned the 55th Venice Biennale with tampons and placed a pink feathered helicopter in the Palace of Versailles. She took part in the inaugural Art Wars exhibition at the Saatchi gallery in 2013 embellishing her helmet entirely in crochet.
This year Vasconcelos has created the 'Wooltrooper' using handmade woollen crochet and ornaments (see image below)

About Chemical X: Chemical X’s identity is unknown. In September the artist attracted headline news when he featured a lifesize silicon model of British actress and model Cara Delevigne (already a collector of Chemical X’s work) surrounded in mesmerising concentric circles of ecstasy tablets which went on sale for £1 million.

About Will Teather:

Agnetha Sjogren says the following about her work 'Law of the Jungle'
This helmet is based on the Vintage Comic books 'Tarzan, Apornas son; No.2 & No.23' printed in 1976 and 'Tarzan; No.8' printed in 1979.
The Vibrant colours and paper were the reason I chose to use the Swedish version of the comic. Each strip is relevant and has a reason for being used, for example; on the nose Tarzan is reading a letter from some villians about his missing wife and child.
'The Law of the Jungle' is an expression that means 'every man for himself' 'survival of the fittest' - I believe that the definition of this is very relevant in the state of the world we live in today.
